Malicious websites training: Found It Cheaper
Malicious Websites & Applications training in a 2:37 animated story. It covers Lookalike sites, fake downloads, malicious ads, cracked software. In English and Arabic, with captions you can switch on or off, and a scenario quiz at the end.
What your team will learn
-
Identify four red flags of a fake shop: a sponsored ad at the top of a search, an address that isn't the shop's own, a price far below everyone else's, and a website that says 'install our app'.
-
Reach a shop safely: type the address you know, or use its app from the official store, never the ad.
-
State where apps and software come from: phone apps only from the official store, programs from the official store or the maker's own site, and at work only what IT Support approves; never a 'free full version' of paid software on a device with work on it.
-
Remove an app or program you're unsure of from a device with work on it, and report it to your security team straight away.
The story
“Found It Cheaper” is the story at the heart of this course. Arjun (junior developer) is the lead character; the learner watches the situation unfold, spots the warning signs, and sees the right thing to do. Set in Nakhlora Group, a fictional Gulf company.
Sample quiz question
Arjun's top search result reads 'Sponsored · Nuvia Official Clearance -65%'. What does 'Sponsored' tell him?
- Nuvia has checked this offer and stands behind it.
- Someone paid to be first, and a fake can pay too.
- The search site has checked who owns the shop.
- It's the shop's own listing, so it's the real site.
Correct answer: Someone paid to be first, and a fake can pay too.
Why: Anyone can pay to appear first, fakes too. An ad on top tells you someone paid, not who they are.
