Working remotely training: One Second

Working Remotely training in a 2:20 animated story. It covers Home setup, shoulder surfing, family devices, locking the screen. In English and Arabic, with captions you can switch on or off, and a scenario quiz at the end.

What your team will learn

  • State the habit: lock your screen every time you stand up, even at home, with a short auto-lock only as a backup.

  • Keep the work laptop for work: offer family the family devices instead, even just to print one page.

  • Set up so no one can read your screen or hear the confidential parts of a call: back to a wall, headset on, confidential details not said aloud, at home, on a train or in a cafe.

  • Report a work device that is lost or used by someone else to IT Support or your security team.

The story

“One Second” is the story at the heart of this course. Hana (project manager) is the lead character; the learner watches the situation unfold, spots the warning signs, and sees the right thing to do. Set in Nakhlora Group, a fictional Gulf company.

Sample quiz question

Hana is on a call at her sister's kitchen island when the doorbell rings. What should she do before she stands up?

  • Mute the call and go; only family are home.
  • Mute the call and lock her screen first.
  • Ask Adam to keep an eye on the laptop.
  • Leave it; auto-lock will cover her soon.

Correct answer: Mute the call and lock her screen first.

Why: Lock your screen every time you stand up, even at home. It takes a second and keeps a live call and open files safe from any tap; auto-lock is only the backup.

One Second [0:00] Hana: …so Kestrel gets the menu by noon. Sorry, the door. One second. [0:07] Adam: Auntie Hana, can I play on yours? …Oh. It's locked. [0:13] Hana: That's why I lock it: the call was still live, and client files were open. Your tablet's by the fridge. [0:21] Narrator: Even at home, lock your screen every time you stand up. Keep a short auto-lock on too, for when you forget. [0:31] Rasha: Hana, can I print Adam's school trip form from yours? It's right there. [0:36] Hana: Not this one, it's for work only. The family laptop's set up for the printer. [0:42] Rasha: It's one page, Hana. What's the harm? [0:46] Hana: It holds client files and it's connected to work. So nothing from home goes on it, not even one page. [0:53] Rasha: Fair enough. And Adam's games stay off it too. [0:57] Hana: They do. If anyone else ever used it, I'd have to report it to the security team. [1:04] Narrator: Your work laptop is for work. Family use the family devices, even just to print. [1:12] Hana: Morning, Kestrel team. The launch budget's on my screen; let's go line by line. [1:19] Narrator: Three things in this setup put work at risk. Can you spot them? [1:28] Narrator: The screen faces the counter, where anyone can read it. [1:32] Narrator: The family printer's cable waits by the work laptop, one plug away. And the work phone is unlocked. [1:41] Hana: Sorry, Kestrel, ten seconds. …Back, on a headset now. Line four: you'll see the figure in the sheet. [1:49] Narrator: Back to a wall, so no one reads your screen. Headset on, and don't say confidential details aloud. Trains and cafes too. [2:00] Hana: The kettle! One second. [2:02] Adam: Locked it? [2:04] Hana: Locked it. [2:07] Narrator: Every time you stand up, lock your screen. Work device lost or used by others? Tell IT Support or your security team.
